Port Orange Photos of the Week: Shadow Box for Fallen Sergeant Justin White’s Family

Fallen Port Orange Police Department Sergeant and I.U.P.A. Local President Justin White passed away on August 5, 2021 from complications due to COVID-19. The Port Orange Police Department recently presented his family with a shadow box containing many of his accumulated pins and patches awarded while serving his community.

Justin coached youth sports for the City of Port Orange, Florida. He was a husband and a father of four. He owned and operated a dog training business. The Saturday prior to his passing was his fifteenth anniversary of service with the Port Orange Police Department.

Justin was proactive in strengthening community relations through K9 demonstrations and through the development of the “Name the K9 Contest” which invited the Port Orange elementary schools to name the department’s new K9s.

Members of Justin’s family and the little league team that he coached are pictured below with the shadow box. Port Orange Police Department posted the photos on their Facebook page, “This week, fallen Sergeant Justin White’s family was presented with a shadow box containing many of his accumulated pins and patches awarded while serving our community. Pictured is Sergeant White’s family and the little league team he coached ‘Optimum K9’. Gone, but never forgotten brother.”

Port Orange Police Department has also made a shadow box for the family of Police Officer Jason Raynor that they are currently making arrangements to give to them. Jason passed away from his injuries on August 17, 2021 a month after a suspect shot him in the head while he was on patrol. Jason was also an I.U.P.A. member and he faithfully served as an officer with Port Orange Police Department and Daytona Beach Police Department.

Each week, the I.U.P.A. Briefing Room features a photo that exemplifies the valuable part of the community that our Law Enforcement Officers all across the U.S. are and their positive impact as well as their dedication, service, and sacrifice.
