Photos of the Week: Hurricane Ian Heroes

Hurricane Ian blew through multiple states, causing flooding and damage in its wake. In answer, law enforcement came together to save and protect those in their own communities as well as those in their neighboring communities.

Sarasota Police Department sent their Emergency Response Team to North Port to help officers there in saving people and animals from severe flooding. They also helped residents in Sarasota to get supplies and assistance they needed. One example is the 91-year-old woman pictured below whose fence was damaged beyond repair in the hurricane. Officers were quick to respond and take it down for removal.

Each week, the I.U.P.A. Briefing Room features a photo that exemplifies the valuable part of the community that our Law Enforcement Officers all across the U.S. are and their positive impact as well as their dedication, service, and sacrifice.
