I.U.P.A. Terre Haute, I.U.P.A. Local #133 Members participated in training aimed at making them safer and more effective during active shooter responses and traffic stops.
Terre Haute Police Department posted on social media, “Members of the Terre Haute Police Department participated in training sessions focused on Active Shooter Response and Traffic Stops. Both trainings covered a range of essential skills, including de-escalation, tactical approaches, and mindset, with force-on-force scenarios integrated into each session. We want to extend our thanks to our community partners for allowing us to use their businesses as training locations, helping us better prepare our officers for real-world situations.”
Terre Haute Police Department also posted, “Today, members of the Terre Haute Police Department and Vigo County Sheriff’s Office had the opportunity to train Active Shooter Response at St. Mary’s College. The event was organized by Emergency Management Agency Director Dorene Hojnicki, and students from the university took part with a special emphasis on the nursing program and triage care. It was a great experience for everyone involved, highlighting the importance of teamwork and preparation not only for our 1st Responders but our community members as well.”
