I.U.P.A. Terre Haute, I.U.P.A. Local #133 was recognized by Terre Haute Police Department as one of the key community groups who have supported the THPD Community Outreach Program.
I.U.P.A. Terre Haute, I.U.P.A. Local #133 donated funds on multiple occasions. I.U.P.A. Terre Haute, I.U.P.A. Local #133 Members, juvenile detectives with THPD, began the program at THPD and other I.U.P.A. Terre Haute, I.U.P.A. Local #133 Members are heavily involved in the program and its events.
I.U.P.A. Terre Haute, I.U.P.A. Local #133 donated funds for the new City flag last year and towards other events such as Operation Save Christmas. Terre Haute Police Department posted about their recognition ceremony, “Today, the Terre Haute Police Department recognized several businesses and organizations that have supported the THPD Community Outreach Program. This program is all about building strong relationships with our youth and continuing to build upon our relationship with our great community.”
They continued, “Our outreach efforts run year-round, with four major events: the THPD Block Party, the 1st Responder Rally, Halloween Festivities, and our favorite—Operation Save Christmas. During that event, every local kindergartener visits THPD Headquarters to meet Santa and help us catch the Grinch. These moments are not only a lot of fun, but they also help build trust from an early age, while showing kids that the police department is a welcoming place to be.”
