Local #225 has successfully negotiated a new contract with a 9.5% raise during the new contract!<\/p>\n<p>On this, South Milwaukee Professional Police Assn., I.U.P.A. Local #225 President Michael Hill stated, \u201cI am very happy with the outcome of this year\u2019s negotiations.\u00a0 The Board would like to thank our City partners for coming to a quick and mutually beneficial contract.\u00a0 The members of the SMPPA are satisfied with our new contract and are relieved to have it approved and signed months before the end of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Negotiations Gains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total of 9.5% raises (3% in the first year, 3% in the second year, and 3.5% in the last year).<\/li>\n<li>Increase of $350 for ballistic vests ($650 to $1,000) and officers can now use that money to offset carriers, which prior to this, they were not.<\/li>\n<li>Joint Tactical Team members receive time and \u00bd for training now, when prior it was straight time.<\/li>\n<li>Field Training Officers now receive \u00bd an hour of comp. time per day that they train a new officer, when previously they received one hour for training.<\/li>\n<li>New officers receive three sick days at hire, in addition to earning twelve their first year. Previously, newly hired officers did not start with any sick days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"align-self: center;margin-left:
