Defiance Police Officers Assn., I.U.P.A. Local #166 Members participated in the Defiance Police Cadets Camp this August to share police work with local kids!

Defiance Police Department posted about it on social media:

  • August 5: It’s camp week for the Defiance Police Department Cadets! This youth program pairs DPD members with young participants, providing mentorship and hands-on instruction in various aspects of law enforcement. After settling in, the cadets jumped right into training; learning different baton strikes and participating in scenario-based exercises.
  • August 6: Yesterday was a full day for the Defiance Police Cadets! They started by testing their pistol shooting skills, and then spent their free time canoeing and kayaking on the lake. The day concluded with a bonfire.
  • August 7: The Defiance Police Cadets have been busy! They spent yesterday at the rifle range, and today they are fishing before taking on the high ropes course this afternoon
  • August 8: The Defiance Police Cadets kicked off their Thursday morning with breakfast alongside Mayor McCann, City Administrator Ryan Mack, and other special guests. Their afternoon was spent tackling a challenging high ropes course.
  • August 11: The Defiance Police Cadets wrapped up their final full day of camp on Friday. After a day of fishing and kayaking, they celebrated with a bonfire and an awards presentation. Thanks for following along – we look forward to next year!
