
This year, an I.U.P.A. Member and the daughter of an I.U.P.A. Member were awarded the Union Plus Scholarship!
The I.U.P.A. put out a press release about the occasion and these impressive students that you can read here. Scholarship awards went to:
- Emma June Fontenot of the State of Washington is the daughter of Mr. David Fontenot, a Member of Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs Law Enforcement Associates, I.U.P.A. Local 27, and she has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
- Steve Johnson of the State of Washington is a Member of Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs Law Enforcement Associates, I.U.P.A. Local 27, and he has been awarded a $1,500 scholarship.
This is Mr. Johnson’s second year in a row receiving the scholarship and it previously also went to:
- Sophia Grace Finnegan-Ayala of Milwaukee. Finnegan-Ayala, whose father, Mr. Alex Ayala, is President of Milwaukee Police Association, I.U.P.A. Local 21, was awarded a $2,000 scholarship.
- Ashley Hope Smith of North Syracuse, New York. Smith, who is a Member of N.Y. State Union of Police Assn, I.U.P.A. Local 8, was awarded a $1,050 scholarship.
- Daniel Padron of Lake Worth, Florida. Padron, whose father, Mr. Fernando Padron, is a Member of Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputies Association, I.U.P.A. Local 6020, was awarded a $1,250 scholarship.
