Shreveport Police Union, I.U.P.A. Local #275 purchased the shirts for the Dean Williams Memorial Run and participated in the event! Shreveport Police Union, I.U.P.A. Local #275 President Chris Bordelon stated, “We proudly sponsored the Dean Williams Memorial Run, where the Union purchased the shirts that were sold for the event. Several of our members participated in the run, and we’re proud to share that we had some standout performances.”
On the website for the event, they stated, “Ron Dean #551 and Dewayne Williams #904 were working in the narcotics division of the Shreveport Police Department. On December 16, 1992, Ron Dean was fatally wounded while attempting to serve a search warrant for narcotics at the Pines Apartments. On March 3, 1993, Dewayne Williams was fatally wounded while attempting to serve a search warrant for narcotics at a home on Magnolia Ave. Ron Dean and Dewayne Williams were supporters of Special Olympics during their law enforcement careers. Shreveport Police Officers along with other law enforcement agencies and civilians participate in this run each year. This run is not only in memory of Ron Dean and Dewayne Williams; it is in memory of all fallen law enforcement officers.”
Shreveport Police Department posted about the event, “Here are some snapshots from last weekend’s Dean Williams Memorial Run — a powerful tribute to two remarkable men. A huge thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, and helped make the event a success. Special shoutout to No Ceiling CrossFit for always showing up strong for our community.”
Standout performances at the event include:
- Shreveport Police Union, I.U.P.A. Local #275 President Chris Bordelon: 1st place in his age group
- Shreveport Police Union, I.U.P.A. Local #275 Sergeant-at-Arms Tiffany Oliver: 1st overall female in law enforcement
- Shreveport Police Union, I.U.P.A. Local #275 Member Lucas Duron: 1st overall male in law enforcement
Shreveport Police Union, I.U.P.A. Local #275 President Bordelon stated, “This event reflects the mission of the Shreveport Police Union: to support our officers and make a positive impact in our community—both on duty and off.”
