Toledo Police Patrolman’s Assn., I.U.P.A. Local #10 Members taught kids some important safety lessons at the Safe-T-City Class!

Toledo Police Department posted about it on social media, “We wrapped up our first Safe-T-City class of the summer—check out a few more moments from the week.” On their website, they describe general information about the class, “Safe-T-City is a child pedestrian and traffic safety program combined with a life safety course. This program is conducted for children entering kindergarten in the upcoming school year. Safe-T-City includes classroom instruction and outdoor practice in a miniature city complete with streets, sidewalks, small buildings, traffic lights and stop signs.”

They continued, “The children are assigned to classes (no more than 15 children per class) with a certified instructor. During the 20-hour course, the children learn through participation in a setting of simulated real-life situations. Guest speakers from different community resources help the children learn through songs, poems, art projects, stories, and movies. Police officers teach pedestrian safety on the streets of Safe-T-City. The different lessons provide an enjoyable learning experience.”
