- Install antivirus/malware protection and keep it updated.
- Use two-factor authentication on everything you can.
- Use different emails for different accounts.
- Explore the software you have installed on both your computer and smartphone. Remove anything you do not use or no longer need.
- Use passcodes even when they are optional on smartphones.
- Use unique passwords for every login by using a password vault.
- Use a VPN service.
- Do not fall for email phishing schemes.
- Turn off the saved password feature in your browser and clear your browser cache on exit.
- Review your social media privacy settings to ensure you have most things disabled from sharing/view.
- Find old accounts and delete them.
- Do not use credit cards. Instead, pay with your smartphones.
