Lake County Police Association, I.U.P.A. Local #72 Members participated in important monthly training dives to serve and protect the citizens of Lake County, Indiana!

Lake County Sheriff’s Department shared about it on social media, “This morning, the Lake County Sheriff’s Dive Unit completed its December monthly training dive at Robinson Lake in Hobart, Indiana. Training included divers performing ice surface rescue techniques; which are used to retrieve victims that may fall through the ice. Residents are reminded to use extreme caution when they are in or near ponds, lakes, and rivers as temperatures and ice surface conditions create extreme risks.”

They shared about the most recent training as well, “The Lake County Sheriff’s Dive Team conducted an ice dive Sunday in the lake at Rosser Park in Lake Station as part of its monthly training schedule. Team divers train year-round in extreme temperatures and several different water environments to prepare for all water-related needs and emergency responses. Air temp:15 degrees. Water temp under the ice shelf: 34 degrees.”
