I.U.P.A. Locals across the nation were recognized during National Correctional Officers Week! On May 5, 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the first full week of May as National Correctional Officers Week, “Now, Therefore, I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim the week beginning May 6, 1984, as National Correctional Officers Week. Coalition of Police, I.U.P.A. Local #911, TX  Members were honored by their department on social media with a recounting of that history, “On May 5, 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the first full week of May as National Correctional Officers Week. Thank you to all correctional deputies and jail employees for the tremendous work you do every day. Your service, professionalism, and dedication keep our communities safe.
