Fort Myers Police Officers Association, I.U.P.A. Local #6065 Members had so much fun at Walk to School Day, teaching local students about pedestrian and bike safety!
Walk and Roll to School Day took place in early October and many municipalities celebrated Walk to School Day throughout the month. Walk to School Day is an opportunity to encourage healthy habits for children to keep them active as well as an opportunity for them to interact with those who keep them safe and learn about traffic safety.
Fort Myers Police Department shared about it on social media, “Our Community Engagement Bureau joined students, families, and staff at Edison Park Elementary this morning for Walk to School Day!”
They continued, “Our officers helped make sure everyone had a safe trip to school while encouraging students to get active and learn about pedestrian and bicycle safety. Thank you to Edison Park Elementary for inviting us to be part of the morning!”
