I.U.P.A. Local St. Lucie Co. Deputies Assn, #6010 has selected Chief Richard Del Toro as their first ever endorsement for an individual outside of their department in his run to be elected as Sheriff of Saint Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Richard Del Toro currently serves as Acting Chief of the Port Saint Lucie Police Department.
On this, President of I.U.P.A. Local St. Lucie Co. Deputies Assn, #6010, Melvin Goycochea, stated, “As the Executive Board of the St. Lucie County Deputies Association, we are tasked for one thing and one thing only. It is for the members to be heard. The members spoke, and that’s why we’re here.”
President Melvin Goycochea, Vice President Tina Speaker, and Secretary-Treasurer Rigoverto Iglesias presented Chief Richard Del Toro with the union’s endorsement in front of a crowd of fifty people at Babalu’s Cuban Café. You can read more in this article published by TCPalm.
The framed endorsement stated, “During your tenure as Police Chief of Port Saint Lucie, you have exemplified strong leadership skills and uncompressing integrity, morals, and ethics. We believe that these qualities, together with your commitment to public safety, make you the ideal candidate for the position of sheriff.”
