Photo of the Week: Resolution in Honor of President Cabral

I.U.P.A. Secretary-Treasurer Michael V. Crivello presented I.U.P.A. President Sam A. Cabral with a resolution at the I.U.P.A. 22nd Convention in Key West, Florida. The resolution honored him for his 38 years of devoted service to the I.U.P.A., 27 of which he has served as I.U.P.A. President. The resolution stated, “Sam has continually led this union from the front, expanding our role in Washington, D.C. and within the Congress, the White House, and the Department of Justice. Sam was a founding Board Member of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, commemorating the ultimate sacrifice of law enforcement officers throughout the history of this nation.”

The resolution continued, “under his leadership, we have seen growth and expansion throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands; improving the wages, benefits, and working conditions of law enforcement officers as well as the right of public safety employees to overtime under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.”

Each week, the I.U.P.A. Briefing Room features a photo that exemplifies the valuable part of the community that our Law Enforcement Officers all across the U.S. are and their positive impact as well as their dedication, service, and sacrifice.
