One of the I.U.P.A.’s Business Agents, Mr. Bob Walker, has been hard at work organizing and negotiating for I.U.P.A. Locals. Recently, he has been negotiating on behalf of Osceola Corrections I.U.P.A. Local 6088 to get them the wages and benefits they need and deserve. Items of particular interest in negotiations include:
- Compensatory time
- Increased clothing allowance
- Retention bonus
- Significant wage increase
The I.U.P.A. Research Director Alina Johns has made two wage surveys to aid them in the process, providing them with additional tools and arguments for negotiations. They are in the third year of a three-year contract and negotiations are ongoing.
Additionally, the I.U.P.A., through the efforts of Mr. Bob Walker and I.U.P.A. General Counsel Maria Kazouris, have just secured certification for a new corrections lieutenants local in Osceola County.
