I.U.P.A. Local Terre Haute, #133 current members and a retiree and former member participated in the Vohne Liche Kennels K9 Olympics with more than 100 teams from around the world who competed in over 30 challenges!
Terre Haute Police Department shared on social media, “The Terre Haute Police Department participated in the Vohne Liche Kennels K9 Olympics this week, where more than one hundred K9 teams from around the world came together to compete in over thirty challenging events. Designed by trainers from across the globe, these events replicate realistic scenarios and push both handlers and their K9 partners to their limits.”
The post continued, “Throughout the five-day competition, teams were rigorously tested in various disciplines, including Narcotics Detection, Explosive Detection, Patrol/Apprehension, and Obstacle Courses. The event ended with the highly anticipated Hard Dog/Fast Dog Competition, where the dogs’ speed and tenacity were put to the test.”
They continued, “We are proud to announce that the Terre Haute Police Department’s K9 Unit excelled, bringing home a total of thirteen awards across the different disciplines. A special congratulations to K9 Rocky, who successfully defended his title as the fastest dog for the second consecutive year. These remarkable achievements highlight the dedication and skill of our K9 teams, and we are incredibly proud of their hard work and success.”
