I.U.P.A. Local Lakewood Police Union, #303 Members have been busy helping kids. Local #303 Members participated in the 2024 Smile Generation Plane Pull for Special Olympics, while others collected and donated toys to needy kids who had none.

Lakewood Police Department posted on social media about the 2024 Smile Generation Plane Pull, “Today members of the Lakewood Police Department and Lakewood IT teamed up to participate in the 2024 Smile Generation Plane Pull Presented by United Airlines. With a respectable 9.6 second pull, we successfully finished our participation raising $3,500 for Special Olympics!!”

Lakewood Police Department also posted, “It’s the extra things that our staff do that makes them so special. Take this situation for instance. Agents Shay, Millard and Lopez met a young boy on a call that explained he had nothing to do because he had no toys or sports equipment. One call to our friends at Walmart and a huge pallet of gifts later, the boy was happy to receive several toys and sports equipment to keep him busy.”

The post continued, “Our civilian Homeless Navigator Wallington worked with a local non-profit to get the rest of the pallet to underprivileged families in Lakewood who needed toys for their kids. We’re proud of these gentlemen and what they were able to do for a young boy and beyond. Thank you for representing the Lakewood Police Department!”
