Toledo Police Patrolman’s Assn., I.U.P.A. Local #10 Members participated in the Bowing with Heroes Event along with other officers, firefighters, state and local leaders, and some really special kids!

Toledo Police Department shared Special Olympics Ohio -Lucas County’s post on social media who stated, “To culminate Disability Awareness Month, The Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities, in collaboration with Lucas County Special Olympics and the Toledo Fire Department, hosted our second Bowling with Hero’s event.”

They continued, “We were honored to have several distinguished guests join us to commemorate this occasion. We extend our gratitude to State Representative Erika White, Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz, and Superintendent Michelle Myerholtz for participating in this celebration and promoting awareness about creating an inclusive community. We appreciate the Heroes who took part in this event, including representatives from TPD, TFD, Ottawa Hills PD, State Hwy Patrol, Wsh. TWP FD, and the Lucas County Sheriff’s Dept. (please accept our apologies if anyone was overlooked). The photographs demonstrate the overwhelming success of the DD Awareness Event!!”

The photos do indeed show what a smashing success the event was! The I.U.P.A. is always proud of our members for supporting good causes as well as serving and protecting their communities bravely.

Each week, the I.U.P.A. Briefing Room features a photo that exemplifies the valuable part of the community that our Law Enforcement Officers all across the U.S. are and their positive impact as well as their dedication, service, and sacrifice.
