Members of five different I.U.P.A. locals from Sebastian Police Department, Indian River Shores Public Safety, and Indian River County Sheriff’s Office participated, both as instructors and as students, in a DUI training class that will undoubtedly save lives.
Sebastian Police Department posted on social media, “Today, the Sebastian Police Department hosted a multi-agency DUI training class. The course was instructed by Corporal Ruiz of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant Bell of the Indian River Shores Public Safety Department, and FWC Officer Marroquin. The class was comprised of officers from Sebastian PD, Fellsmere PD, and the Indian River Shores Public Safety Department.”
They continued, “During this course, officers learned the basics of DUI enforcement and procedure utilizing a ‘wet lab’. A ‘wet lab’ consists of multiple volunteers demonstrating different levels of alcohol impairment. Remember never to drink and drive Sebastian! ”
Each week, the I.U.P.A. Briefing Room features a photo that exemplifies the valuable part of the community that our Law Enforcement Officers all across the U.S. are and their positive impact as well as their dedication, service, and sacrifice.
