Photos of the Week: Get the Scoop with BSO

I.U.P.A. Local 6020 from Broward County, Florida members participated along with other officers from Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Get the Scoop with BSO with local kids to give them a tour, teach them crime prevention tips, show meet K9 Anthem, enjoy cold treats, and more!

Broward Sheriff’s Office shared on social media, “Get the Scoop with Cooper City BSO. Today students from a local summer camp explored the wonderful world of law enforcement with a tour of our Cooper City district office. This was a part of the district’s Get the Scoop with BSO initiative, where deputies use a nostalgic-style ice cream cart to hand out ice cream and treats while providing safety tips on crime prevention.”

They continued, “Attendees met one-on-one with Captain De Giovanni and learned about his responsibilities as the Chief of Police. The tour continued to the Real-Time Crime Center, Criminal Investigation Unit, where they learned how detectives search for clues to solve crimes. The tour ended with a special visit from Deputy Covet and K9 Anthem, who shared a treat with the kids.”

Each week, the I.U.P.A. Briefing Room features a photo that exemplifies the valuable part of the community that our Law Enforcement Officers all across the U.S. are and their positive impact as well as their dedication, service, and sacrifice.
