Photos of the Week: Lawton Officers Teaching Motorcycle Safety

I.U.P.A. Local Lawton Police Officers Assn., #24 Members taught Lawton, Oklahoma citizens how to use motorcycles safely for FREE! The class has taken place on numerous Saturdays and is so popular that classes fill up quickly.

Lawton Police Department posted about the class on social media, “Forget about traditional classroom lectures and PowerPoints; this was a hands-on learning class! On March 30th, citizens spent their Saturday honing their skills on two-wheels! The Lawton Police Department offered a FREE school for riders wanting to sharpen their riding skills. The day consisted of slow speed cone patterns, emergency braking, throttle control, and friction zone.”

The post continued, “This course is designed to enhance rider’s safety while driving on the road. If you missed out on this opportunity, don’t fear for we will be hosting another class on April 13th 2024 from 0900 – 1530 hours at the Dillard’s parking lot (200 SW C Ave.) We require all of the participants to have a valid motorcycle endorsement prior to the class.”

Each week, the I.U.P.A. Briefing Room features a photo that exemplifies the valuable part of the community that our Law Enforcement Officers all across the U.S. are and their positive impact as well as their dedication, service, and sacrifice.
