I.U.P.A. Local Yonkers Police Benevolent Assn, #16 hosted a BBQ for more than 500 special needs kids at Yonkers Montessori Academy. Per their website, Yonkers Montessori Academy is, “a collaborative learning community, rooted in Montessori philosophy” that is currently teaching children through their summer program. The event was a huge success. Officers and kids ate some delicious BBQ, had fun together, and learned a lot about safety. The children and their teachers were so appreciative that they sent thank you cards to the officers to show them what a difference they make.
