Sebastian Police Officers Association, I.U.P.A. Local #6053 Members teach classes periodically to educate women and kids how to better protect themselves through self-defense techniques.

The classes are called R.A.D. Class, which stands for Rape Aggression Defense Systems. They were developed to provide educational opportunities for women to create a safer future for themselves through awareness and defensive skills. They include lecture, physical defense, and simulation exercises.

Sebastian Police Department posted about the latest class that graduated, “Last night, another group of women graduated from the RAD class! We had a great time partnering with the Vero Beach Police Department to teach this class and are so proud of all these ladies!

The I.U.P.A. Briefing Room has previously published an article about former graduates of the program as the Photos of the Week article, “Photos of the Week: Sebastian Self-Defense Classes”. In that case, it was a group of excited kids who took the children’s version of the course and they had a great time!
