Ohio Detective saves injured dog from crime scene and gives her a forever home!
Detective Mooney responded as lead detective to the scene of a fatal stabbing on October 19, 2020, in which Anthony Banks was found deceased in his home with numerous stab wounds. Also in the home, was a dog named Baby Girl who had also been injured severely and needed some serious medical attention. Baby Girl was swiftly rushed to MedVet Toledo. The staff there immediately began treatment for her stab wounds, ultimately saving her life. Splash Park Defiance Police Officers Association, Local #166
Defiance Police Officers Association, I.U.P.A. Local #166, was involved with the creation of the Defiance Splash Park in the City of Defiance, Ohio. It began in 2016, when DPOA President George Moser spoke with the city’s Service Director, Rob Cereghin, about the potential project. DPOA thought that the idea of a city water park was a great community project from the get-go. They have always been involved with fundraising throughout the year to allow them to support youth programs, school activities, youth sports, senior programs, and other community events or programs. Tacoma Police Union I.U.P.A. Local 6 and Nothing Bundt Cakes local bakery showing their support for the Tacoma Station 8 Firefighters
The Tacoma Station 8 Firefighters responded to a house fire and attempted to rescue an 11-year old girl. They got her to the hospital, but she tragically died from her injuries. To show their support for fellow first responders and the grief they certainly were experiencing, a board member of the Tacoma Police Union I.U.P.A. Local 6 went to a bakery to get cupcakes to deliver to the firefighters at the station impacted by the rescue attempt. When the owners found out what was going on, they donated the cupcakes. WACOPS, the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs, made this video for the Washington legislative session this year to share about the profession.
