2021 I.U.P.A. Blood Drive!

On August 2, 2021, the International Union of Police Associations hosted a blood drive to aid in addressing the nationwide blood shortage that the United States is currently facing. Staff, friends, family, and officers gladly rolled up their sleeves and donated to help save lives. One of the donors, I.U.P.A. Web Designer Annie, was even donating for her very first time! Laura, who drove the “Bloodbuddy” bus like a pro, and Rosa, who was a whiz with a needle, were the friendly, kind, capable, and caring phlebotomists who handled collecting the donations. Sarasota Police Summer Camp Fun

The Sarasota Police Department is very active in their community and have events regularly in order to connect with children and adults in the city they protect and serve. Recently, they had two events with kids from the Y Summer Camp. On July 22, their SWAT Team, K-9 Teams, and Community Action Team had a great day with the youngsters. I.U.P.A. Brother in Need of Assistance

It is with a heavy heart that we share that one of our brothers in blue, Port Orange Police Officer Justin White, President of I.U.P.A. Local Port Orange Police Association, husband, and father has fallen gravely ill with COVID-19. Justin has been placed on a ventilator and they are starting him on dialysis. Our hearts are with Carlyn and their four beautiful children as well as Justin’s brothers and sisters in blue in Port Orange Police Department. Sign Up to Donate Blood at the I.U.P.A. Blood Drive

Upon learning that there is a nationwide blood shortage, the International Union of Police Associations is doing their part by hosting a blood drive at our International Headquarters. The Blood Drive will take place on August 2, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Suncoast Blood Center has graciously agreed to provide us with a bus that day so that employees of the I.U.P.A. and any others who wish may donate to this great cause. I.U.P.A. Local Milwaukee Police Association participated in this year’s annual Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) Kids Camp! Kids Camp is a weeklong camp for surviving children of Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty. MPA sponsored team shirts for the 6-8 year old age group and arranged for the Milwaukee Police Department to have the Mounted Patrol, Motorcycle Unit, and Tactical Enforcement Unit on display for the kids to interact with. Family Thanks Police Officers for Their Compassionate Assistance

The I.U.P.A. is proud to represent the members of the Milwaukee Police Association as well as officers across the United States, including in the U.S. territories of Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. Milwaukee Police Officers Matthew Wagner and Dustin Langfeldt responded to a Critical Missing call of an elderly lady who had dementia and had been missing for several hours. Video: Defiance Police Department Officers Use BolaWrap to Prevent Attempted ‘Suicide by Cop’

The I.U.P.A. is proud to represent the members of the Defiance Police Officers Association as well as officers across the United States, including in the U.S. territories of Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. On June 7, 2021, Defiance, Ohio Police Department officers responded to a suicidal male subject in crisis. The subject repeatedly asked officers to shoot him. The subject then stated that he was armed. Rather than respond as the suicidal man wished, Sergeant Matt Skiver deployed the BolaWrap with Patrol Officer Levi Pauli present on the cruiser video holding cover with his Taser.
